M3000 Guitar and Bass Synth Our follow-up to 2019’s M3 now with enhanced & faster tracking for guitar and bass. But this isn’t an incremental update. It’s a reinvention of how a guitar synth should perform. While we’ve always prided our synth effects to keep the player feeling connected to the sound being produced this was a paramount priority for the M3000. You play a note and the M3000’s response feels natural like a fuzz or overdriven amplifier. So many options, Where to start? Flip the EDIT MODE switch to EZ to keep it simple, but not dumbed down. EZ mode doesn’t care about menu diving or a parameter matrix. The SELECT knob cycles through 11 classic starting points that shape the filter, envelopes, and MOD1. The PARAM 2 and PARAM 3 knobs offer immediate tweaks. PARAM cycles through a library of 32 oscillator variations. Instantly jump from simple waveforms to thick chords to radical ring-modulated textures, all without ever touching a manual. If you never want to hassle with MIDI or just want to spark a new idea in seconds, EZ Mode keeps it brilliantly simple while offering a world of sonic variety. It’s the familiar ease we took from the M3 and expanded. Responds to your touch The M3000 uses dynamic envelopes that respond to your touch with parameters for attack, decay, release & range which modulate the filters and VCA. This was a total re-think for guitar. This combines the versatility of an ADSR envelope with the responsive feel of an envelope follower. Above are visual examples of how the envelopes respond to touch. The variation is even more apparent with palm mutes or sliding to another fret on your guitar. There are separate envelops for the filters and the VCA. There is also a third envelope for modulating the oscillators. Unlock the Iconic Scream: Dual Filter Engine The M3000’s powerful dual-filter system captures the full range of the legendary MS-20: Analog Low-Pass Filter: Experience the rich, warm sweep of a true analog circuit, based on the revered MS-20. Digital High-Pass Filter: Modeled on the MS20’s filter. Now, you can harness the aggressive, screaming resonance that defined a generational synth. Filters are modulated by the filter envelope or MOD1’s LFO. Three Oscillators. Total Sonic Control. The M3000 is built around three fully independent oscillators. Each offers: 13 waveform types, including MS20 basics like saw, pulse, triangle. We also added some Alpha Juno-inspired waves, and original sync oscillator options. 5-octave tuning range per oscillator. Warp control on 11 waveforms for harmonic shaping and texture modulation. Ring modulation options for metallic and inharmonic tones. Each oscillator’s amplitude can be independently controlled—pitch, amplitude, and warp and can be modulated via MOD1, MOD2, or ENV3. Oscillator levels can be set to overdrive the filters for a more aggressive sound. This is a full-featured synth voice, designed for maximum flexibility and hands-on sound design. Modulation Along with the envelopes, MOD 1 and MOD 2 offer powerful LFO options and routing. MOD1 is similar to things you could do on the MS20. These include Triangle, Sine, Pulse and Random with variable duty cycle. Mod 1 can be routed to the filters, pitch vibrato or individual oscillator warp. MOD2 is a 3 phase LFO. What the heck is that? It’s actually 3 LFOs running in sync. These can be offset by phase? Still confused? You’ll really only need to understand it if you dive deep, but it’s used to create arpeggiator like effects. Modulation MOD 1 and MOD 2 provide extensive modulation options, with flexible routing adding a sense of motion to your sound. MOD 1 offers classic LFO waveforms—Triangle, Sine, Pulse, and Random—with variable duty cycle. It can be routed to filter frequency, pitch (vibrato), or individual oscillator warp. MOD 2 is a 3-phase LFO: three synced LFOs that can be offset by phase. This allows for complex rhythmic modulation, arpeggiator-like patterns, and evolving textures without needing a sequencer. Did you understand all of that? Don’t worry you won’t need to unless you dive deep into the MIDI editor. All modulation sources—including the envelopes—can be routed freely, giving you detailed control over dynamics, tone, and motion. MIDI Synth? Last but not least, you can plug in a midi controller and use the M3000 as a traditional synthesizer. Just plug in the MIDI controller and press a key.
